The reputable stylist is because a stylist should be avoiding getting the chemicals on your skin/scalp as much as possible. Chemicals on your skin can be absorbed into your body (just like a birth control or nicotine patch does).





Theoretically, the chemicals that come in contact with your skin/scalp can be absorbed by your body and then be present in your breastmilk. However, the amount of any potentially harmful chemical that would get on your skin (if you use a knowledgeable stylist) would be very low, meaning even less would be absorbed, and then even less would actually make its way to your milk, if any.

Ask your doctor. I have been told that it is safe to dye your hair while pregnant as long as you are in a well ventilated area. I think that the fumes from these products are the only danger. Don't dye your hair at home while the baby is around and keep the windows open and a fan running. Or just go to a salon and have someone watch the baby for you.
Yes, absolutely fine. It's a bit of a myth that you can't use certain hair products while pregnant or breastfeeding. These products do not enter your bloodstream and cannot harm your baby. The only think I would suggest is to make sure there is adequate ventilation in the room if the products are pretty heavy duty.

Although i would recommend you get it done at a hair dressers tho cos those home ones god knows what in them!


but if you do use them just keep well away from the baby so it doesn't breath in those fumes
I took my son with me to the Salon when I had my hair dyed! I think it is fine as long as you are not constantly doing it, or exposing your baby too it. They say that they are technically safe anyway!
That is ok! My mon have a hair salon and most of her clients have baby and they even take the babies with them. It's ok also when you're pergnant!
yes its safe, as long as you arent breastfeeding while dying your hair. the hair dye isnt going to seep into your milk somehow

Of course, these new products do no harm. I dyed my hair during my whole pregnancy too and had no problems. And it's true what the other respondent said: never dye your hair at home and make sure you have fresh air in the room where it is done (the latter affects pregnant women only cause the baby is not there).
