I am assuming when you say bleach your talking about clothing bleach, because there is no way anyone can lighten their hair without bleaching it ...it may not be called bleach...but thats what it will be.

Bleaching (Hydrogen Peroxide) is the only option, or a colour with inbuilt peroxide.





However, black hair and bleaching really doesn't work well together.

black womens hair lightens a lot easier than most people think. be gentle! esp if you relax it. that process alone lightens your hair. just use a VERY COOL light brown. have the sales person help you with cool vs warm. i would go to a pro tho.
